Mount Ijen Crater Tour, Bali Flight & Hotel & Travel Insurance 4D4N for SGD520

Yes! Booked yet another trip, to experience in 2016! :)

Booking the best value Flight and Hotel

I have just booked my Flight and Mount Ijen – Bali tour. Similar to my recent trip to Taiwan 5D4N at SGD405, I searched for flights through Skyscanner.

Jetstar 2-way Flight at SGD182

Its SGD182 per pax inclusive of taxes and credit card charges (no check-in baggage as we do not need it), and the timings were just right. We land at 8am, just a right timing for our tour guide to pick us up from the airport. And our flight is at night which means we get to spend a full day out before heading to the hotel.

Purchase through Expedia for Points & Rewards

As an Expedia member, you will get to earn points when you transact with it, and there’s no booking fee. What’s more, Expedia offers up to 60% off hotel stays if you booked your flight through them. And that is what I did. We found many nice looking hotels located near to Canggu Beach at Bali. (I’m not sponsored to advertise for Expedia)

You can choose to book your hotel together with your flight or book it AFTER you have purchased your flight.

As I only need the Hotel for 2 nights since the Mount Ijen Tour covers 2 nights of accommodation, I booked it separately from the flight.

Frii Bali Echo Beach at SGD51 for 2 Nights

At just SGD102 for 2 nights (2 pax), here is our hotel, FRii Bali Echo Beach. I applied a 12% Mastercard promotional code that I googled for, so dont forget to save your dollars before checkout!

You can also choose the Pool-view room but we prefer watching the ocean than just chilling at the pool.

Mount Ijen Crater Tour 3D2N at SGD250

I  got a special price from our Tour Guide for Mount Ijen tours because we hired him before in our trip to Mount Bromo in year 2015. I also referred a friend to him for a group of about 10 pax.

At just SGD250 per pax, here is what’s included and our Itinerary for Mount Ijen 3D2N Tour.

  • Private car transport from Denpasar Airport (Bali) to Mount Ijen – turtle beach back to bali/drop at your own hotel in bali area
  • Driver, Fuel and Parking
  • Jeep for Sukomade Turtle Beach
  • Sukomade / Meru Betiri National Park Entry Ticket
  • Local Guide for Mount Ijen Blue Fire
  • Mount Ijen Entry Ticket
  • Ranger for Turtle at Sukomade
  • Ferry Ticket
  • Country Side Tour
  • 1 Night Stay at Sukomade Home Stay
  • 1 Night at Ketapang Indah Hotel with Breakfast, 1 Standard Room (Mount Ijen area)

Travel Insurance Is Important

I always purchase Travel Insurance when I go overseas. Because you need only claim once to make it “worth it”. My very first claim from Etiqa Travel Insurance was after my trip to Mount Bromo – Bali. The volcano had erupted and its ashes were nearby the airport, making flights too dangerous to continue. Our flight was cancelled and I went back to Singapore after 4 days of delay. That resulted in a whopping SGD1,300 claimed from Etiqa insurance (SGD100 for every 6 hours of delay)! and they paid within a month of me submitting the travel claim forms to them.

Ever since then, the claiming limit has lowered and the Suite tier allows a maximum of SGD1,000 to be claimed. But its more than sufficient to have your entire trip expenses covered, including the additional hotel costs and food. There’s even enough to head to more tours!

As a recap, the Total Costs are as follows:

Jetstar Flight: SGD182

2 Nights Hotel at Bali: SGD51

Mount Ijen Crater Tour: SGD250

Insurance for 5 Days: SGD37

Total: SGD520

I don’t expect a lot of expenses during the trip since accommodation have already been provided for and food is relatively cheaper at Bali. Can’t wait for it! :)
